PCC RISE 2023 X TV 2 DANMARK A/S

RELIVE THE CASE

We were proud to have TV 2 Danmark A/S as our partner for this year’s RISE competition. TV 2 Danmark A/S, a powerhouse in the Danish television industry, was established by law in 1986 to break DR's monopoly. TV 2 has since established itself as a leading force in the Danish television industry. As a 100% state-owned company and a commercial public service provider, TV 2 is the only media house in Denmark that creates public service content on a commercial foundation, financed solely through subscriptions and commercials – bringing in around 3.6 billion DKK in yearly revenue. Today TV 2 Danmark A/S has about 1,500 employees and operates 8 TV channels, their website TV2.DK, as well as the on-demand service TV 2 PLAY, which surpassed 1 million paid subscriptions in 2022. Explore the case and the winning solution below.

What is PCC RISE?

Our PCC RISE competition is for all economics students, and participation does not require any prior case-solving experience! Whether you are in your 2nd or 8th semester, this is the chance for you to explore the world of case competitions with a chance to solve real-life problems of leading Danish organisations, from the comfort of your own home. We therefore encourage all bachelor and master students to participate in the competitions!

The nine best teams are invited to present their solution in an exclusive semifinal held at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue partner. The three winners proceed to the final where they will present in front of a panel of senior judges from our Case Partner and BCG - The winner takes home DKK 10,000!

A Case in Economics

The case is written with an economist skill set in mind and provides a unique opportunity to apply economic theory from your studies to current and real issues in some of the most influential Danish organizations. The emphasis on economics is also reflected in the evaluation of the solutions and as a participant, you should expect quantitative work to be a central element to analysis.

Enter the World of Case-solving

The case is specifically designed for novices in case-solving who wish to explore the world of case competitions. Therefore, students in the bachelor’s and master’s programs with any level of experience in case-solving can easily participate in PCC RISE and boost their problem-solving toolbox.

Solve the Case from Home

The PCC RISE is an online case competition that allows your team to solve the case from the comfort of your own home in a 6-hour time span. We provide your team with goodie bags with all the things you need to crack the case and offer takeaway vouchers upon receiving your solutions.

Sharpen your toolbox

Solving the PCC RISE case will boost your skills in teamwork, structured problem-solving, economic analysis, and presentation. PCC RISE is a learning opportunity for participants and therefore, every team receives feedback on their solution by our judging panel consisting of experienced economists from the case partner, BCG, the university, and other external partners.
